What’s new in Punchcard.

New features, improvements, and fixes across CoAudit, Request, Workpaper, and Financial Statement Review. Updated as we ship.

CoAudit plans and executes substantive testing

CoAudit

CoAudit can now take a substantive testing section from a blank workpaper to a draft you review. It reads the risk, proposes the procedures, pulls the supporting evidence from Request, and documents each step in the workpaper.

You stay in control of judgment. CoAudit handles the execution work around it.

Plan the section automatically

Point CoAudit at an assertion and it drafts a testing plan grounded in the engagement risk assessment and prior-year approach. Every proposed procedure links back to the assertion it covers.

  • Sampling built in — CoAudit selects samples against your firm methodology and shows its work, so the rationale is reviewable.
  • Evidence on tap — Supporting documents already collected through Request are matched to each selection without re-asking the client.
  • Exceptions flagged — Mismatches and missing support surface as review notes instead of getting buried in a tickmark.

Review every step

Each procedure shows the inputs CoAudit used, the conclusion it reached, and the evidence it relied on. Accept it, adjust it, or send it back. Nothing posts to the workpaper without a reviewer.

Request sends its own client reminders

Request

Chasing clients for evidence is the slowest part of fieldwork. Request now handles the follow-up for you, on a cadence you set, and stops the moment an item is satisfied.

  • Smart cadence — Reminders escalate from a gentle nudge to a firmer ask, and pause automatically over weekends and holidays.
  • Per-item, not per-list — Clients only get reminded about what is still outstanding, so a long PBC list never feels like spam.
  • Full visibility — The engagement team sees exactly what was sent, when, and what is still open, all from the Request dashboard.

Workpaper Agent drafts tie-outs and tickmarks

Workpaper

Workpaper Agent now traces amounts across the trial balance, lead schedules, and supporting documents, then drafts the tie-out and proposes tickmarks for your review.

Tracing that shows its work

Every tie-out includes the source document, the page and cell it came from, and the agent reasoning. Hover any tickmark to see what it stands for and where the number lives.

Built for review

Differences over your materiality threshold are surfaced at the top of the workpaper, not hidden in the detail. Sign off when the support holds up.

Disclosure checklist automation in Financial Statement Review

Financial Statement Review

Financial Statement Review now maps your draft statements against the applicable disclosure checklist and flags what is missing, inconsistent, or out of date with the framework.

  • Framework aware — Checklists track US GAAP and IFRS updates, so you are reviewing against the current requirements.
  • Cross-references checked — Numbers in the notes are tied back to the face of the statements, catching the disclosures that drift during late edits.
  • Reviewer-ready output — Findings export as review notes you can clear in place or route to the preparer.

SSO, audit logs, and SOC 2 Type II

SecurityPlatform

Punchcard is now SOC 2 Type II certified, with the enterprise controls firms expect for client data.

  • Single sign-on — Connect Okta, Microsoft Entra, or Google Workspace with SAML and SCIM provisioning.
  • Audit logs — Every access, export, and configuration change is recorded and available to your administrators.
  • Data residency — Choose where engagement data is stored to meet client and regulatory requirements.

A faster CoAudit

CoAuditPlatform

We rebuilt how CoAudit loads engagement context, so opening a workpaper and switching between sections is now near-instant on even the largest engagements.

Large engagements with thousands of evidence items now load in under a second, document previews open inline without a round trip, and search spans the whole engagement instead of one section at a time.

See it run on your engagement.

Everything above is live in the product. Book a walkthrough and we’ll show you how it fits your audit.
